Over the past 15 years I've worked as a creative director, photo editor, photographer, illustrator and videographer producing work for a diverse list of clients including Alaska Airlines, Animal Planet, Men's Journal, National Geographic, Outside magazine and many others.

Prior to working as a full-time photographer and creative consultant, I worked as an art director for several large and small ad agencies on both the east and west coast. Most recently, I worked on staff at Canoe & Kayak magazine, where aside from shooting feature stories and more than a dozen covers, I photo edited and designed over 90 issues cover to cover throughout my seven year tenure as a one man art department. I was also the founding creative director and staff photographer
of SUP magazine. I now work around the world and right next door shooting
for a wide variety of editorial and commercial clients.

What people are saying:

Robert Zaleski consistently captures the unique, personal experiences that unfold as we seek adventure on the water. From big rivers to exposed breaks, he documents this common impulse with the rugged personalities and landscapes that connect paddlesports’ varied ends with unmatched precision and creative vision.
- Dave Shively
Managing Editor, Canoe & Kayak Magazine

Robert was one of the first photographers I asked to come on board with our new agency and has been an invaluable asset to our roster. The quality of his work speaks for itself and perfectly resonates his devotion to outdoor adventures both on the water and off. He's the perfect team player but his creative vision needs little to no guidance and you never have to check in or ask twice; he's always on top of his game and well organized from start to finish.
- Jon-Paul Harrison
Executive Director of Sales, Tandem Stills + Motion

Robert is one of the most talented people I've had the privilege to work with. His photography is exceptional, whether shooting action, product or portraits, with strobes or natural light. I source images from name photographers every day, and Robert's work stands with the best of them. I urge you to check out his portfolio and see for yourself.
- Jeff Moag
Editor, Canoe & Kayak Magazine

Beauty, intensity, passion...as writers we strive to capture the essence of the real world with a few subtle words. Adventure travel photographer Robert Zaleski has the ability to do it with a single frame. From the gregarious to the sublime, this passionate lensman has snapped photos all over the world capturing images of Samurai swordsman and rock hard multi-sport athletes, allowing each picture to speak a million words to the viewer, and pull them deep into the subject’s aura. The still photography universe is a better place because Zaleski resides in it.
- Joe Carberry
Editor, Standup Paddler Magazine

Robert's talents exceed his role as Creative Director and Staff Photographer for Canoe & Kayak and SUP magazine. His art direction and photography for the two titles shows for itself. But when he's not on assignment he is pushing himself to shoot more and conceptualize to stay current and push new ideas. Never to be painted into a corner Robert is an asset to any company.

- J.P. Van Swae
ASG/Grind Media Studio Photographer

We get an average of 1800 photographers contributing per year - that's a conservative estimate and Robert's images stand out among the top ten...from my very first glimpse of his work I was hooked!
